Read moreWith the instructions in the Sun Sauna video series, you can do the underlayment, or grating, of your sauna correctly, one time. It’s a good idea to plan the roof and walls of your sauna well, so that air can circulate freely between the panel and the vapour barrier.
Wall panelling can be done either horizontally or vertically. In the case of vertical panelling, cross-bracing must be applied under the panels. When installing horizontal panels, a simple vertical bracing is sufficient.
The framing is used to create a ventilation gap between the aluminium paper and the wall panel. To make it easier to attach the boards, it is advisable to attach a support of plywood or board. Please also note any wall mounting bracket for the stove.
The purpose of the roof sheathing is to ensure air circulation between the roof panel and the vapour barrier and to act as a nailing substrate for the panel.

The role of the wall columns is to ventilate the wall structure between the panel and the vapour barrier. In the case of the site shown in the video, the walls are cross-laminated to provide adequate ventilation between the panel and the slab on the walls.
