Sun Sauna’s laude and panel news for autumn 2015

The sauna trends of 2015 have been tinted and clean-lined ceiling designs and panels.

In the case of panels, this has meant the proliferation of sharp STS-pointed panels in particular. A sharp red panel gives a fresh and edgy appearance when well lit from the opposite direction to the point.

The tinting is mostly done in shades of grey or black, but now the surfaces are also tinted in very light shades. When tinting with light colours, it is also important to bear in mind the wear and tear caused by use. For walls, light shades are a good and fresh solution, but tinting a ceiling white requires special care on the part of the user. Nevertheless, it is also acceptable that the tile will show signs of use later on.

Sun Sauna’s autumn novelty is the STS-pointed 145 mm wide untreated aspen panel. As a light, even-toned material, aspen can be tinted to virtually any shade. It is also the only material that can be used to achieve a very light, almost natural white shade without looking painted.

If you want a white or very light-coloured wall panel, you should paint the untreated aspen with e.g. Supi Panel’s protective agent. It has a slight white tint added to it, so that the aspen stays beautifully light for a long time and does not yellow over time.

In the case of boards, clarity has meant moving to slightly wider boards, but also reducing unnecessary bumps and crossties. Again, simple is beautiful and durable. In Sun Sauna’s board collection, the trends are reflected in the new Log and Elegance collections. They represent a slightly wider board and a more minimalist line, but moderation is also maintained. This makes them suitable for smaller sauna rooms.

Both collections are made to measure and, of course, with removable tablecloths. Particular attention should be paid to washability, especially for boards made of wide and thick board materials. Wide and thick slabs can easily become so heavy that they are impossible to remove and wash. In all Sun Sauna’s board models and collections, the boards are removable and all-round washable.
