Sauna panels, washroom ceiling panels and sauna ceiling materials should be purchased from the same batch and location, to minimise any differences in width and shade.
The panels are Grade A panels, packed in packs of 5-6 pieces, sized. The panels are shrink-wrapped to ensure protection during transport. The panels are stocked in 30 cm increments, which significantly reduces the amount of wasted panels.
We will provide you with a free paneling plan with your request for quotation: you will receive a calculation of the number of panels required, the lengths, a recommendation from our sauna expert on the most suitable material, as well as cutting and installation instructions! When calculating the panel size, please note that the width of the panel is not the same as its useful width.
In addition to the panels, we also have the necessary mouldings for the sauna and washroom. The panels are stored indoors and are ready for installation without the need for moisture levelling at the installation site.
The panels can also be tinted! Please note that a dark tinted sauna needs sufficiently strong lighting!
When tinting panels, the choice of treatment should be made carefully. The right treatment will leave the grain of the wood beautifully visible and the surface will not look painted. Tikkurila Supisaunavaha and Liberon sprites are good finishes. Panels treated with Liberon tint can be further protected with a panel protector, making it easier to maintain the sauna later.
All panel materials in sauna walls should be treated with a protective coating. Protective treatment gives the panels UV protection and keeps their natural shade for a long time. Protective treatment of the panels also facilitates the subsequent oil treatment of the mortar. An unprotected panel surface is susceptible to absorbing paraffin oil used in decking, which causes darkening of the wood surface. We recommend Tikkurila Supi Sauna Protector as a panel protector, for example, when the panel is not to be tinted. A single coat will not change the colour of the panel and will not leave a surface gloss.
Protection and care of sauna panels
We recommend a protective treatment for all sauna panels. The panel should be carefully protected with e.g. Supi Sauna Protector once. If the panel is treated more than once, it may develop a surface sheen.
The panel can also be protected with a tinted panel protector, which allows you to choose the desired shade. Currently, tinted panels are often used in light and black shades.
The protective treatment of the panels facilitates their cleaning and subsequent oil treatment of the mortar. The oil will not be absorbed into the treated panel surface leaving spots.
The panels are delivered fully sized in packs of 6.
