Sauna panels and mouldings

Top quality interior panels for sauna and bathroom ceiling!

Sauna panels, washroom ceiling panels and sauna ceiling materials should be purchased from the same batch and location, to minimise any differences in width and shade.

The panels are Grade A panels, packed in packs of 5-6 pieces, sized. The panels are shrink-wrapped to ensure protection during transport. The panels are stocked in 30 cm increments, which significantly reduces the amount of wasted panels.

We will provide you with a free paneling plan with your request for quotation: you will receive a calculation of the number of panels required, the lengths, a recommendation from our sauna expert on the most suitable material, as well as cutting and installation instructions! When calculating the panel size, please note that the width of the panel is not the same as its useful width.

In addition to the panels, we also have the necessary mouldings for the sauna and washroom. The panels are stored indoors and are ready for installation without the need for moisture levelling at the installation site.

The panels can also be tinted! Please note that a dark tinted sauna needs sufficiently strong lighting!

Tinting the panel

When tinting panels, the choice of treatment should be made carefully. The right treatment will leave the grain of the wood beautifully visible and the surface will not look painted. Tikkurila Supisaunavaha and Liberon sprites are good finishes. Panels treated with Liberon tint can be further protected with a panel protector, making it easier to maintain the sauna later.

Protective treatment of sauna walls

All panel materials in sauna walls should be treated with a protective coating. Protective treatment gives the panels UV protection and keeps their natural shade for a long time. Protective treatment of the panels also facilitates the subsequent oil treatment of the mortar. An unprotected panel surface is susceptible to absorbing paraffin oil used in decking, which causes darkening of the wood surface. We recommend Tikkurila Supi Sauna Protector as a panel protector, for example, when the panel is not to be tinted. A single coat will not change the colour of the panel and will not leave a surface gloss.

Sauna floorboard and sauna panel materials

  • The Giant - Note! Only available as a board. The colour varies from dark brown to light brown. The clear variations in colour make the surface of the wood lively, and the wood is very resistant to sauna conditions. Thanks to its porous structure, it is light and therefore does not feel uncomfortably hot.
  • Tar alder - A beautiful light material, ranging in colour from reddish to reddish brown.
  • Heat-treated tarred alder - The colour is a beautiful brown, even tone. Moderate grain pattern, with smaller differences in tone than heat-treated ash. The heat treatment means that the wood does not warp.
  • Heat-treated aspen - The colour is a beautiful brown with a slightly yellowish tinge. The clear variations in colour make the surface of the wood look alive. Heat-treated aspen is very dimensionally stable, rot-resistant and non-toxic, as only water vapour and heat are used in the manufacturing process.
  • Heat-treated magnolia - The colour varies from dark brown to light brown, but the overall colour is darker than in aspen or alder. Heat-treated magnolia has a beautiful and vivid scab pattern.
  • Aspen - Aspen is a very light, uniform material that is ideal for tinting.
