The stages of sauna renovation
Preparing a budget
An important step in planning a sauna renovation is to draw up a budget in advance. There are large differences in the price and quality of the materials used for the sauna interior, and it is important to think about the materials to be used for the sauna beforehand. When budgeting, it is worth taking into account the work, some of which requires a permit and may not be carried out without the proper authorization. If the site requires a permit or notification, contact the permit holder before starting the work. Be prepared for possible surprises in terms of time and cost.
Design phase
Material choices are a key part of sauna renovation, affecting the appearance, comfort, maintenance and lifetime of the sauna. Consider whether to keep the old technology or whether there is a need to replace it in the process. Consider the lifespan of the future sauna in the design, if not all are replaced here, when these structures will be at the end of their useful life. Ask for binding quotes in advance for materials and work, note variations in availability of materials. If necessary, order or reserve the products before starting the renovation. Draw up a realistic timetable for the work to be carried out.
Implementation of the work
Protect the walls and floors of the premises, taking into account possible dust. Use appropriate tools and protective equipment for demolition work, recycle waste. Inspect the structure with a professional when demolition is complete. Complete the renovation in phases, one step at a time. This will make it easier on materials and tools, as space is always limited. Handle the panels to be installed immediately after they are installed.
Allow enough time for the technology to be connected, always a whole day is recommended as it is often not possible to have several people working in the same room. Also allow sufficient working space for the installers, as many connections are easier to make before installing the equipment. Try to test all techniques at the time of installation to avoid unnecessary visits later.
Commissioning and maintenance
Once the renovation is complete, it is a good idea to plan the maintenance and upkeep of your sauna for the future. Check that all aspects of the work have been completed. If the sauna panels have been treated with an adhesive-based protective agent, only water is needed to wash and maintain them. Washing the sauna ceiling and floor is carried out according to use. It is recommended that the sauna floor be treated with oil 1 to 2 times a year. Replacement of heater stones according to use, at least every 1-2 years, the need for replacement is indicated by the colour of the stones.
Maintenance is easiest during warm weather, and the decks can be protected and dried out well in the summer outdoors. Thanks to maintenance and treatment, the life of the sauna can be extended by several years.

Cleanability and maintainability

Sun Sauna's trademark has always been the usability, maintainability, affordability and cleanability of the decks.
All our decks always come with all the decking removed so they can be easily kept clean.
The frame rails come off with a lift and the rails have brass pins for easy removal so they will never swell in use.
Fibre optic luminaire integrated in the luminaire
When the deck is fitted with fibre lights, we milled fibre grooves into the front of the seat board to facilitate installation and cleaning of the fibres and to protect them from breaking during maintenance and washing.
1. and 2. The fibres of the fibreglass sauna light are installed in the backrest and in the front of the seat.
3. A fibre groove is milled in the upper frame to facilitate the installation of the sauna light kit.
4. The fibreglass sauna light kit for the ECO model includes 5 m of fibreglass to be placed on the ceiling above the stove.

Lute installation
Sun Sauna's decks are pre-assembled in the factory. Before dismantling, the parts are numbered and delivered with illustrated installation instructions. Installation of the prefabricated decks is easy and does not require any special skills or tools. Made-to-measure tiles always come with pictorial installation instructions for each tile.
Delivery
The saunas will be delivered to your doorstep within the agreed delivery week.
